Hwarang Kwan Patch

The flower symbolizes the flowering youth, a state of mind. Through the discipline of the art, the practitioner will achieve a sense of accomplishment and wellness, both physically and mentally.  The art will keep you young.

The individual petals of the flower symbolize the individual schools of the Tae Kwon Do, that together, make up the whole unit.  A petal alone cannot compare to the beauty and potential of the full flower.  The individual petal cannot bear fruit and propagate for future generations like the flower can.

Eum Yung (yin yang) is perfect harmony and balance, a continuous movement within the sphere of infinity, resulting in one unit.

Blue (Eum) means dark, cold, night, earth, moon, winter.

Red (Yung) means bright, hot, day, sky, sun, summer.
